He was predeceased by: his parents, James William and Dorothy Mae Hagan Carey. He is survived by: his wife Mary Linda Carey of Bardstown; his daughter Amy Carey of Bardstown; and his siblings, William Kenneth Carey of Bardstown, Louis Daniel Carey of Bardstown, Maryann Waldridge of Morgantown, Donna May Snellen (Jim) of Bardstown, Joyce Wallingford (Doug) of Bardstown and Nora Carey of Bardstown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions will go to the American Diabetes Association and Wounded Warriors Project.
