He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Downs and Beulah Downs; and his stepdaughter Leigh Anne Spalding. He is survived by: his wife Barbie Downs; his sons, David Lee Downs (Cheryl) of Bardstown and Donald E. Downs (Janell) of Bardstown; his stepchildren, S. Todd Spalding of Louisville and Angie L. Richardson of Bardstown; his grandchildren, Cory Downs, Nathan, Hannah, Hunter, Shelbie, Jemma, Jenifer, Ashley and Bobby; and his siblings, Joe Downs, Kathy Goodin, Janie Gordon, Betty Jones and Allen Downs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Barlow Funeral Home (2675 E John Rowan Blvd, Bardstown, KY 40004). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
