He was predeceased by : his parents, Willie B. Gibson and Flora Sizemore Gibson; his wife Mallie Miller Gibson; his son Richard Gibson; his daughter-in-law Ann Gibson; and his sisters, Nellie and Edna.

He is survived by : his granddaughter Jennifer Renee Gibson; his great grandchildren, Whitney Roberts, Alecia Thien, Bradley Roberts and Rachel Thomas; and his great great grandchildren, Peggy, Alyss, Sonny, Caleb, Emma, Josiah, Riley, Jeremiah and Ellie.
