With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donna Alvey of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, born in Martinsville, Virginia, who passed away on August 16, 2021 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Valerie Marshall of Martinsville and Donald G. Marshall; her daughters, Tammy Porter (Dan) of Beaver Dam and Kim Cooper (Todd); her grandchildren, Kasey Hutto (Tara), Megan Cooper and Josh Cooper (Taylor); her siblings, Jerry Marshall of Martinsville, Sharon Smith, Judy Epling (Jerry) of Martinsville, Gloria Cooter (Tom) of Greenville, TN and Debbie Clark (Roy) of Marietta, GA.; and her parents-in-law, Mildred Daniel of Hartford, David "Butch" Alvey (Margie) of Hartford and Harrison Alvey (Vicki) of Hartford. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

“Related through her Dad's Brittain ancestors, I am a distant cousin to Donna. Our respective grandmothers were sisters. Growing up in Martinsville, near her family's Horsepasture, VA farm, I saw a lot of Donna and her siblings as a child visiting the farm. Despite less than two years between us, regrettably, time and distance has kept us both from meaningful contact during most of our adult lives and I never had the privilege of meeting her adult family for whom I wish peace in your sadness..”
