He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Luther and Lillian Carter Harper; and his siblings, Gene Harper, Annetta Tarrants and Ruth Benton.

He is survived by: his wife Bettye Barnard Harper; his children, Doug Harper (Tricia) and Cheri Greer (Tim); his grandchildren, Ryan Greer (Megan), Tyler Greer (Laken) and Megan Price (Kamden); and his great grandchildren, Riggs Greer, Levi Greer, Harper Greer, Hal Greer and Anne Greer. He is also survived by other great-granddaughter and great-grandson.
