He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Willard Dempsey and Doris Long Dempsey; and his wife Jeanine Quinn Dempsey. He is survived by: his sons, Nicholas Dempsey (Katie) of Benton and Bobby Jack Dempsey; his siblings, Betty Joyce Gillentine (Robert) of Sardis, Janett Morris (Woody) of Hilton Head and Glenn Dempsey (Joyce) of Michie, Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Griffin Dempsey, Elisa Dempsey, Addie Dempsey and Olivia Dempsey.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann (1003 Poplar St, Benton, KY 42025). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
