He is survived by: his wife Nelda Dockins of Benton; his children, Richard Dockins (Donna) of Millstadt, IL and Joetta Bright (John) of Benton; his siblings, Darrell Dockins (Daphne) of Millstadt, IL, Darren Dockins (Michelle) of Millstadt, IL and Deborah Laminack of Freeburg, IL; his grandchildren, Cassidy Polus (Dylan), Catlin Mason (Steven), Erik Dockins (Mariah), Trever Dockins, Kaylee Mays (Cody) and Kaleb Bright (Olivia); his great grandchildren, Olivia, Everleigh, Natia, Bentlee, Preston, Nolan and Aiden; and his great great grandchild Viola.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Historic Cherokee Center.
