He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Gilbert and Wanda Ruth "Maw" Bills Gilbert; and his brother-in-law Charles "Chico" Smith. He is survived by: his sister Sharon Smith; his niece Jennifer Hays (Jason); his nephew Jonathan Smith; his great-nephews, Jace and Trevor Hays; and his uncles, Charles Bills and Jimmy Bills. He is also survived by several cousins and friends.
