She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Carter and Agnes Wilkes Carter; her husband Robert Eugene Carter; her son David Matthew "Matt" Carter; her former husband Gene Scites; and her siblings, Mary Carter Allen, Jack and Ron Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Stephen Carter (Silmara) of Berea, KY and Amy Carter Shehee (David) of Charlotte, NC.; her grandchildren, Melissa Carter of Berea, Joshua "Josh" Carter of Berea and Luke Shehee of Chapel Hill, NC.; and her sister Peg Cook of Huntington, WV.. She is also survived by family but also her dear neighbors and devoted caregivers.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Ridgelawn Cemetery (5547 W Pea Ridge Rd, Huntington, WV 25705).
