It is with sadness that the passing of Verlene Collins of Bevinsville, Kentucky is shared. Verlene, born on June 16, 1951, passed away on September 25, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Verlene will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Verlene by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Verlene is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Verlene’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Evans and Fannie Williams Evans; her son Billy Akers; and her siblings, Randall Evans, Kermit Evans and Darline Adkins.
She is survived by: her children, Mickey Akers (Lisa Murrell) of Dandridge, Tennessee, Vicki Hurst (Gary) of Bevinsville, Connie Spears of Lexington and Lyla Stumbo of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She is also survived by Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home - Martin (7 Clinic Dr, Martin, KY 41649). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
