We bid farewell to John Edward Penny Sr. of Big Clifty, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 9, 2025 at the age of 79. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Penny and Edith Quale Penny; his wife Mary Alonso Penny; his daughter Dawn Penny; and his siblings, Barbara Graziano, Caroline Delaney, Edith Marion Penny, Robert and Dennis Penny.
He is survived by: his children, Helen Searle, Debbie Booz (Brian), Patricia Daoust (John Paul), John Penny, Jr. (Julie), Paul Penny and Erick Penny (Karen); and his sister Pam Paretita (Ernesto). He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Rogers Funeral Home (115 W Main St, Clarkson, KY 42726). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery (1821 St Paul Rd, Leitchfield, KY 42754).
