He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Mae and Oscar Carman. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Carman (Lockard); his daughters, Darlah Zweifel (Mark) and Angela Cherry (James); his grandchildren, Bradley Clark, April Cherry and Zachery Cherry; and his siblings, Virginia Fay Minter and Howard Ray Carman.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Big Spring Baptist Cemetery.
