He was predeceased by: his father Neal Yates; and his brother Carl Yates. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Foster Yates; his sons, Todd Yates (Cheryl) of Lexington and Brandon Yates (Nikki) of Bloomfield; his sisters, Aleen Barnes of Mt. Washington and Marzetta Houghlin of Bloomfield; and his grandchildren, Adeline Workman (Ben), Foster, Jimmy, Clayton, Rosalie and Owen Yates.
