He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Brumit and Minnie Johnson Brumit; and his siblings, William "Alton" Brumit, Winnie Palmer, Rachel Osborne and Lucy Brumit.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Earline; his children, Vickie Douglas (Roger), Malcom Brumit (Vonitta) and Mark Brumit (late Makala); his sister Dorothy Childers; his grandchildren, Ben Douglas and Makenize Murphy; and his great grandchild Carlee Murphy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Hospice for their excellent care and expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
