He was predeceased by: his parents, Nimrod B. Barker and Ruby Tyree Barker; and his siblings, Carroll Wendell "Jack" Barker and Betty Gail Reed. He is survived by: his wife Donna Graft Barker; his children, Douglas Keith Barker (Kathy), Rebecca Siers Tuck (David), Catherine Porter Ross (Jason), David Andrew Barker (Anne) and Henrietta Thornburg Barker; his grandchildren, Chris, Alyson, Andrew (Alex), Lexi (Cam), Blake (Abbey), Ashley (Austin), Mattie, Sam, Madison, Katie, Ava Grace, Sara Jane and Molly; and his great grandchildren, Jayden, Mason, Asher and Ripley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in David's name to Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.
