He was predeceased by: his former wife Brenda Ford Simpson; and his son Craig Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Martha Darlene Simpson of Bowling Green; his daughters, Nicole Byrne (Nathan) of Bowling Green and Belinda Austin (Darrin) of Bowling Green; his siblings, Ted Simpson (late Jan), Ronnie Simpson (late Judy) of Florida and Lori Brooks (Thor) of Franklin; his nephews, Kelly Simpson (Mary) of Jacksonville, Florida. and Bernie Simpson (Tracy) of Jacksonville, Florida.; his siblings-in-law, Nancy Stobaugh of Greenville, KY. and Lee Ford of Greenville, KY.; his grandchildren, Joseph Todd (Elma), Alex Embry, Jerry Pfeiffer, Allen Mattingly, Gracie Dawn Mohr and Legind Hart; his great grandchildren, Liam Todd, Eliana Todd and Elizabeth Watt; and his extended family, Nathaniel and Ashley Dew.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Ln, Bowling Green, KY 42104). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (1209 Fairview Ave, Bowling Green, KY 42103).
In lieu of flowers, Delane has requested that donations be made to Hosparus of Southern Kentucky or American Legion Post 23.
