He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Hayes and Mineva Britt; and his wife Evelyn Hayes. He is survived by: his sons, Effort Hayes, Jr. (Dana) of Bowling Green, KY and Christopher Hayes (Vickie) of Pittsburg, PA; his stepdaughter Twana J. Cornett (Julian) of St. Lucie, FL; his grandchildren, Joshua Hayes, Aaron Scott, Chris Brown, Christon Hayes, Ryan Hayes and Christonna Anthony; his stepgranddaughter Shamaree E. Cornett; and his caregiver Rosa Brooks.
