She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Janes and Ruth Shoultz Janes; and her grandparents, John Henry Shoultz and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Morgan. She is survived by: her husband Freddie E. Thompson; her sons, Keith Thompson (Judy), Kevin Thompson (Paula) and Michael Thompson (Pam); and her stepdaughter Jennifer Parrott (Stephen). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
