As we bid Joan farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joan is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond St Clair Henderson and Irene Dorothy Gerichten Henderson; and her sister Mary Jean Bauer. She is survived by: her husband Nicholas Butcher; her children, Gerrie Steed, Julie Isaac (Anthony) and David Butcher (Christine); and her grandchildren, Jason Ward (Stacey), Daric McKonly, Katie Isaac and Will Isaac. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her greatest passion was nursing and working at Cypress Village in Jacksonville, Florida where she was in charge of a sixty patient Alzheimer's unit.
