He is survived by: his sons, Avery Davis and Luke Wilson Sears; his girlfriend Heather Priest Deaton; his parents, Mary Carol Sears and Leonard Wilson Sears Jr. (Brenda); his brothers, Joseph David Sears (Catherine), Jesse (Jay) and James Matthew Sears; his siblings' children, Caroline, David, Zach, Hudson Sears and Jack Lundy; and his stepdaughters, Madison, Whitney and Sarah Deaton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Heart Association and The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy.
