It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marcheta Jean Skinner in Bowling Green, Kentucky, who passed away on February 14, 2026, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Marcheta leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Norma Johnson and Raymond Graves; her brother Royce Graves (Sarah); the father of her children Joseph William VanMeter; and her husband Bill Skinner.
She is survived by: her sons, Phillip Patrick VanMeter (Lana) and Mark Steven VanMeter (Pam). She is also survived by four grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
