He is survived by: his wife Sarah Catherine Jenkins; his children, Candace Jenkins, Crystal Travis, Melvin Joe Jenkins Jr., Melkita Oldham and Kaelin Alonzo Jenkins; his grandchildren, Damani Jenkins, Patrick Ryan Ingram, Cierra Jenkins, Dabein Mills, Shaniya Jenkins, Ariel Jenkins and Terrace Oldham; and his stepmother Joann Williams Jenkins.
