He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Anderson Shirley and Myrl B. Shirley; and his brother Jack Shirley. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ryan Shirley; his children, Pamela Shirley Sagan, Paula Crosby (James "Jim") and Brian Shirley (Susan); and his grandchildren, Grant Shirley (Kathleen), Tyler Sagan, John Sagan (Andrea), James Crosby, Ryan Crosby, Samuel Shirley and Margaret Shirley. He is also survived by two nephews and one niece.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 12:00 PM.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers for donations to be made in Pauls honor to State Street United Methodist Church.
