She was predeceased by: her father John Curtis Carter. She is survived by: her mother Imogene Miller Carter; her son Carter Sleight (Grant Sleight); her brother Steve Carter (Sherry); and her niece Melissa Cook. She is also survived by her husband and sons.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (4754 Smallhouse Rd, Bowling Green, KY 42104). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery (1209 Fairview Ave, Bowling Green, KY 42103).

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions made to the funeral home to assist with Sherri's final arrangements.
