He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Eugene Shafer and Rosetta Shafer (Coleman); and his son Michael Shafer. He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Chumbley (Brent); his brother Dale Shafer (Teresa); and his grandsons, Alex Chumbley and Josh Donahue.
