He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Lay and Susie Vincent Lay; and his brothers, Claude Lay Jr., Dillard Lay, Emery Lay, Rayburn Lay, David Lay, Alton "Sam" Lay, Derick Lay and Stanley Lay.
He is survived by: his daughters, Shelly Wingate and Lilly Lay; and his sisters, Laverne Rathert, Evon Pugh (Larry) and Jan Pardue. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many close friends.
