He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvel Sherrard and Myrtle Perkins; his stepfather Rodney Perkins; and his siblings, Donald Allen Sherrard, Mary Alice and Jack Sherrard.

He is survived by: his wife Kay Sherrard; his children, Jeremy Hilbert (Nicole) and Jenna; and his grandchildren, Serenity Sherrard, Jeremy Paul Hilbert, Jr. and John Paul Hilbert.
