He was predeceased by: his parents, Lamar Allen and Lorraine Mercer Allen; and his brother Nick Allen. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Duvall Allen; his son Gus Allen; his daughter-in-law Amy Allen; his grandchildren, Griffin and Molly Allen; his sister Sally Allen Crenshaw (Don); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Allen and Boyce Duvall. He is also survived by 2 nieces; and 1 nephew.
