Stephani Itibrout wrote a sympathy message

“I worked with Chip at Medina High School. I originally wrote that he was a gentle giant, and then I saw that other people wrote that. It must be true, then, since that is how we all think of him; so soft-spoken (unless he was angry!) and so caring toward his freshmen students. I enjoyed my conversations with him, and my thoughts are with his family and friends.”

Jessica Niemantsverdriet wrote a sympathy message

“I also had the honor of working alongside Chip. Back when I was a first year teacher looking at the daunting task of monitoring a study hall with over 100 students, Chip helped ease me through the process. 5 minutes with Chip and you knew you were going to be OK. He was calming and comforting. Staff and students alike respected his character. Just hearing the deep timbre of Chip's voice was a reassuring thing. Chip gave so much to his school and will be dearly missed.”

Simon Spelling wrote a sympathy message

“Chips was a larger than life person and personality. He taught freshmen here at Medina and his 6ft 5 frame must have been daunting. They had no need to worry for inside was a warm, caring and humorous man who loved his job and those he did it with. He leaves a huge shadow literally and figuratively. He is sorely missed by all that knew him. Simon Spelling”

Tim Jack wrote a sympathy message

“This is Tim Jack who taught with Chip at Medina High School. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Chip and I shared the same room teaching social studies for a year. I was always impressed his dedication to the "craft." We shared many laughs! He was a great story teller. Please know that I am so grateful to have experienced Chip in my life! Accept my heartfelt condolences. Tim Jack”
