He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley McRoy and Arline; and his stepsister Sue Sigers. He is survived by: his wife Dianna McRoy; his children, Mariah Horner (Tory) and John McRoy II; his brothers, James McRoy (Chris) and Jerrell McRoy (Debra); and his grandsons, Addison Horner (Aven), Camden Horner and Canaan Horner.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Green River Chapel Baptist Church (1009 River Rd, Central City, KY 42330). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Memorial Green River Chapel Baptist Church (1009 River Rd, Central City, KY 42330).
In lieu of flowers, John had requested donations be made to the Gideons Organization of which he was a proud member.
