He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Joseph and Helen Shoemaker Gilbert; his wife Naomi Gilbert; and his siblings, Tom, Ron, Bill, Fred Gilbert and Viola "Janie" Frederick.
He is survived by: his daughter Stephanie Hurst (Barry) of Poplar Grove; his grandchildren, Derreck Hurst (Tiffany) and Chris Hurst (Monica); his great grandchildren, Kennedy Curtis, Kayden Curtis, Karson Hurst, Knox Hurst, Canaan Hurst and Tyson Hurst; his sisters, Mary Etzel and Gloria Hein; and his close friend Fayrene Brown.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Poplar Grove Cemetery Fund at 360 Richlands Rd., Brodhead, KY 40409.
