He was predeceased by : his parents, William Thomas (Willie) and Ella Mae Van Zant (Mink); his sisters, Oneida Faye Van Zant, Naomi Odessa Allen and Anna Lee Jones; and his grandson Jacob Patrick Lyons.
He is survived by : his wife Myrtle Van Zant (Ballinger); and his grandchildren, Brian Coates (Molly), Shane Coates (Brittney), Joshua Coates (Samantha), Mark Adam, Kayla, Travis, Aaron, Aleah, Charles (CJ), Alyssa Napier, Cameron Hawley, Zachery Lyons, Kaleb Lyons and Lucas Lyons. He is also survived by four sons and two daughters.
