He was predeceased by: his parents, Mitch Blackburn and Jenny Bowe Blackburn; his daughter Wanda Leigh "Boo" Hunt; and his siblings, Douglas, Elmer, Willard, Charles, Millard, Homer Blackburn, Paulette and Estie.

He is survived by: his children, Bryant Blackburn (Sherry) of Prestonsburg, Rhonda Blackburn of Bronston, Dianne Linio (Rick) of Lexington, Terry Meade (Jim) of Williamson, WV and Karen Bowen (Eric) of Lexington; his sister Pauline Milam of Burnwell; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Barker, Shawn Linio, Tracy Rayborn, Keith Blackburn, Curtis Hunt, Alex Meade, Joshua Meade, Zack Bowen, Crystal Blackburn and Jason Scalf; and his great grandchildren, Colton Puckett and Evelyn Barker.
