He was predeceased by : his parents, Floyd Cecil and Mildred England Kurtz; his brother Harry "Rhodie"; his sister-in-law Janie Kurtz; and his in-laws, Linda Pollitt, Kenny Toller and Bob Black.

He is survived by : his wife Judy Pollard Kurtz; his children, Louci Kurtz Wylie of Maysville, KY, David Isaac Kurtz (Anna) of Fairfax, VA and Wendy Kurtz of Virginia Beach, VA; his grandchildren, Olivia Peed, Jonah Cecil Peed, Josiah Peed, Adeline Kurtz and Austin Kurtz; his brother Rick Kurtz (Melinda); and his godchildren, Gracie Cummins (Steven), Cheri Heater, Aaron Heater, Michael Kurtz and Robbie Pollitt (Amy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to Concord Methodist Church or Maple Grove Cemetery.
