With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stephen Powell of Burkesville, Kentucky, born in Valparaiso, Indiana, who passed away on May 21, 2022 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Powell and Carolyn Powell (Glissman); his former life partner Nancy Green; his son Scott Powell; and his brother John Powell.

He is survived by : his wife Sandra Johnson; his stepchildren, Kelly Sullivan (Joe), Holly Wells, Cassie Wells-Bravo (Daniel) and Rebecca Gordon (Nick); his son Ron "Opie" Garrison (Susan); and his siblings, Carol Sturdevant (Frank), Barbara Wheele (Tom), Alicia Powell, Mary LeBio (Al), Mark Powell (Glenda) and Jane Powell (Bob Campbell).

Memorial donations may be made to National Hemophilia Foundation or Shriners Hospital.

He always had that big smile on his face greeting us as we walked the dock, and waving when we passed going up and down the hill. He will be deeply missed.
