He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf Többen and Anna Többen; his wife LaVerne Toebben; his son-in-law Scott Marx; and his siblings, John Toebben, Elisabet Oldopp, Marie Kreutzjans, Rudolf Többen and Anna Moring.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Ellison, John Toebben (Dana), Diane Marx, Bill Toebben (Judy) and Elizabeth Heist (Tom); his close friend Pat Runge; and his sisters, Agnes Wessels and Tekla Rieken. He is also survived by his adored, 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
