He was predeceased by: his parents, John Brecht and Polly Hutchinson Hastings. He is survived by: his wife Paula Teaster Hastings; his children, Jason Hastings, Katherine Chandler and Ryan Hastings; his grandchildren, Madeline, Anna, Reese and Aiden; his friends, Jim Courtney, Charlie Dickey, Pat Sowers, Craig Jobe, Tom Miller, David Henderson and Charlie Fugazzi; and his siblings, Elizabeth "Bunny" Phillips, Prudence Miller, Susan Anderson, Donna Adams and Mark Hastings. He is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Linnemann Funeral Homes (1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
