He was predeceased by: his parents, Breckinridge Fugate and Margaret Wagers Fugate; and his siblings, H. B. Fugate, Helen Miller, Lois Dixon and Alice Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Connie Fugate; his children, Kenyon Fugate (Gina) of Versailles, KY, Nathan Fugate of Burnside, Westley Fugate of Burnside and Debra Mobley (Greg); and his siblings, Clay Miller, Henry Miller and Ruby Argonis. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
