He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy J. Askren and Elizabeth Poe Askren. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Reed Askren; his children, Jeff Askren (Joanna), Michele Askren-Miller (Danny), Lisa Staley (Jay) and Chris Askren (Laura); his brother Billy Gene Askren (Sonja); and his granddaughters, Jasmine Askren, Annalise Palmer, Francesca Staley and Anna Askren.
