He was predeceased by : his parents, Lewis Sherbut and Hallie Sherbut; his wives, Louise Sherbit (Hendon) and Darlene Sherbit (Greenwood-Henry); his children, Brenda Noojin, Linda Pote and James Sherbit (Jimmy); and his sisters, Louise Joyce and Flossie Mitchell.

He is survived by : his son John Sherbit (Kelly); and his son-in-law Sam Noojin. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens (8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307).
