He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Akin and Elsie Akin (Combs); his son David Akin; and his siblings, Donald Ray Akin and Sarah Lucille Moran.
He is survived by: his daughter Donna McClister (Donnie); his stepgrandson Stanley McClister; his close friend Linda Seaver; and also, Dr. Cassandra Stephens (William), Tyler Stephens of Campbellsville, Joanna Morong (Brian) and Emily (Ruben) of Texas. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
