With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Van Cleave of Campbellsville, Kentucky, who passed away on October 7, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid George farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For George is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rhodam Parrott Van Cleave and Hattie Bell Van Cleave; his wife Ruth Kilby Van Cleave; his son Michael Van Cleave; and his granddaughter Mia Miller.
He is survived by: his cousin Shirley Phillips; his daughter Dr. Vicki Van Cleave; his son-in-law Stanley Lawrence; his grandchildren, Andee Grandits of Boulder, CO, Nick Lawrence (Dejá) of Las Vegas, NV and Nicole Ortega (David) of Chesterfield, VA; and his caregiver Betty Smith. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Acton - Mannsville Chapel (250 Wooleyville Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lr Petty Funeral Home (Acton –mannsville Chapel) (250 Wooleyville Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718).
