He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Elwin Phillips and Pearl Mae Benningfield Phillips; and his siblings, Dwight Phillips and Teresa Spurling. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Phillips of Campbellsville; his children, Jeremy Phillips (Carrie), Amanda Phillips (Derrick Stevenson) of Campbellsville and Emily Phillips (Ben Pelletier) of New Mexico; his grandchildren, Brayden Phillips, Brooklyn Phillips, Haileigh Glover and Dylan Glover; and his siblings, Johnny Phillips (Alois) of Campbellsville, Paul Phillips (Tresea) of Elk Horn and Rose Milburn of Louisville. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
