He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas and Dollie Cave Roots; and his sister Joyce Hubbard. He is survived by: his wife Judy Watson Roots of Campbellsville; his children, Robert Douglas Roots (Wanda) of Columbia and Sue Bowen (Greg) of Glasgow, Kentucky.; his grandchildren, Alex Sexton (Jamie), Samantha Benedict (Jeff) of Somerset, Whitney Roots of Lancaster, Keri Bowen Mosier (Ryan), Grant Bowen (Brittany) of Glasgow, Kevin Cowan (Tammy) of Tennessee and Angie Cowan of Columbia Kentucky; his great grandchildren, Zachary Benedict, Peyton Benedict, Zander Sexton, Blakely Mosier, Jaxson Rainwater, Makenna Cowan, Keiley Williams (Cody) and Adam Baker; his great great grandchildren, Emma Grace Williams and Jase Cowan; his brother Lawrence Roots (Linda) of Campbellsville; his brother-in-law Joe Watson (Viola) of Campbellsville; and his caregiver Shannon Kreebs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
