He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Gary and Margaret Embry Gary; his wife JoAnn Brooks Gary; his stepmother Eulma Gary; and his stepbrother James Gary.
He is survived by: his children, Deanna Gary of Leitchfield, Donita Ashley (Tootie) of Anneta, Daniel Gary of Caneyville, Denisa Geary of Caneyville and David Gary (Brittany) of Caneyville; his grandchildren, Kelli (Aaron), Brena (Logan), Tyler (Kursten), Erin, Shelby, Preston, Izzy, Abby, Bentley, McKinley, Halley Jo and Lilley; his great grandchildren, Stella Jo, Emma, Langston and Colby; his sister Marylane Fishburn; his siblings-in-law, Richard Brooks (Karen), Vivin Brooks and Florence Gary; and his caregiver Brenda Williams.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Chapel Union Church Cemetery.
