He was predeceased by: his wife Matilda Barnes Hamilton; and his parents, Roger Ray and Nellie Frances McIlvain Hamilton. He is survived by: his children, Steve Hamilton (JoAnne), Stephanie Hawkins (Roy, Sr.), Chris Adams (Stephanie Dixon), Delilah Dollar (Charles Conner), Stacey Treash (Bruce) and Emery Shepherd; and his daughter-in-law Theresa Adams. He is also survived by several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home (105 S Locust St, Carlisle, KY 40311). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
