He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard, Sr. Howard and Mary Agnes Soister Howard; his brothers, Donald Ray, Ralph and Dennis Howard; his father-in-law Robert G. Sumner, Sr.; and his brother-in-law Bobby Sumner.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Sumner Howard; his children, Joshua Robert Howard and Kandice Lee Howard (Chad Crump, Sr.); his sister Mary Frances Link (Gary); his grandson Chad "C. J." Crump, Jr.; his mother-in-law Marjorie Sumner; and his sister-in-law Kimberly Smith. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews, and a large extended family.
