He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey "Bud" Kinder and Doris Ann Blankenship Kinder; and his brother Timothy Mark Kinder. He is survived by: his wife Tammy McGlone Kinder; his daughter Courtney Kinder of Russell, KY; his stepchildren, Amanda Bussey of Catlettsburg, KY and Scott Bussey of Ashland, KY; his siblings, Gwendolyn Sue Corwin (Mike) of Ashland, KY and Christopher Kinder (Shannon) of Catlettsburg, KY; his stepgrandchildren, Nyomy Bussey and Samuel Scott; his nieces, Hadyn Kinder, Haley Corwin and Sara Corwin Perdue; his great-nephews, Jackson Hall and Lincoln May; and his great-niece Heidi May (Sparky).
