With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janet McCarty of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 25, 2026 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hurschell Spears and Madge Gambill Spears; her husband Larry McCarty; and her siblings, John Spears, Madge Spears Black and Iranell "Nell" Spears Adams.
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Grubb (Keith) of Catlettsburg, KY, Alison Fisher (Edwin) of Canonsburg, PA, Jeff McCarty (Allison) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Ryan McCarty (Megan) of Nicholasville, KY; her grandchildren, Andrew Grubb (Emily), Emily Renee Grubb, Christian McCarty (Leslie), Keaton McCarty (Haley), Brittany Fisher, Megan Fisher, Zachary Fisher (Josie), Deacon McCarty and Braylon Lambert; her great grandchildren, Case McCarty, Myla McCarty and Maren McCarty; and her granddaughter Lauren Horton.
