He is survived by: his wife Fanny Frazier Hood; his daughter Sandra Hood; his grandchildren, Sarah and Kandice of Ashland, KY; his sons, John R. Hood, Jr. (Sylvia) and Kenny (Cynthia Wieland) of Rush, KY; his grandchildren, Mark, Max of Arlington, TN, Amanda Hood of Catlettsburg, KY, Emma Umberger (Kyle) and Stephen Hood (Jocelyn); his stepdaughter Caylyn; his stepgranddaughter Stella; his siblings, Emilie Hood, Marie Hood of Ashland, Bonnie Lawhorn of Huntington, WV, Joyce Osborne of Summit, Wanda Kay Allemang of Ashland and Leonard Hood of Catlettsburg; and also Olaf. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home (2702 Panola St, Catlettsburg, KY 41129). The military honors will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 12:45 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
